EMDR-Certified Intensives

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced-based psychotherapy that is effective in helping individuals with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, poor self-esteem, addictions and more. EMDR involves the use of eye movements (or tapping) to stimulate the brain’s natural healing processes. EMDR helps clients revisit traumatic experiences in a safe and less-intimidating way. EMDR helps individuals get "unstuck" from memories, feelings, or beliefs that prevent authentic healing. Together, we will improve your sense of safety, sense of self, and improve your ability to regulate emotions and responses.

Traditional therapy is no longer the only option. EMDR-certified intensives are designed for those who want to receive an extended amount of therapy in a short amount of time (typically over the course of 1-2 consecutive days) to focus on a specific treatment plan or goal and to achieve the same results you would get in months of traditional weekly sessions. It can feel like a little personal retreat and can lead to lasting transformation and healing.

  • In an EMDR Intensive session, you can expect to spend several hours per day with your therapist. You will be guided through the eight phases of EMDR. Intensives offer an accelerated, intense, and effective approach to processing traumatic experiences and fostering healing.

I offer virtual intensives via a video platform, which can help if you are someone who is more comfortable in your own home, someone with limited access to transportation, or you prefer more anonymity. Since it is virtual, it is important you are able to find a place where you have privacy and feel completely safe for the duration of the intensive.

Treat the days surrounding the intensive like a personal retreat. You will be weary after an intensive and I recommend that you don’t schedule any important meetings or social gatherings after an Intensive. Schedule activities you enjoy such as massages, yoga and hiking.

  • An EMDR intensive might be a good fit for you if:

You’ve experienced a traumatic event and would like to address it in a short time period

You are seeking relief from overwhelming symptoms that you have been battling with for years

You have limited time to schedule weekly appointments with a therapist

You have tried traditional talk-therapy in the past. You feel stuck and like you are not seeing the results you were hopeful for

You are currently in therapy but would like adjunct EMDR therapy because you feel stuck in certain patterns that may be related to past trauma, experiences, and habits

    • You will process more information in a shorter amount of time. Instead of working on a memory in hourly weekly sessions for weeks, you can process the memory in a day. Most people experience relief faster.

    • Intensives are highly concentrated and focused on healing, sometimes requiring less time and overall cost to you. During weekly therapy sessions, a big amount of the time goes into “checking in” at the beginning and grounding at the end, this take up EMDR reprocessing time.

    • You can arrange what you need based on your circumstances for one day, instead of weekly (such as child-care or an hour off of work). This eliminates the need and stress of ongoing help.

  • Health insurances do not cover EMDR Intensives.

Intensives are an investment in your healing! The cost depends on which intensive format you choose.

    Half-Day- $1050

    Full-Day- $1500

    Two Full-Days- $2400

A nonrefundable $150 deposit is required at the time of booking a consultation meeting and will be applied to the overall cost of your intensive.

A nonrefundable $300 is required at the time of the 2-hour intake appointment and will be applied to the overall cost of your intensive.

The remaining balance is required at the time of the Intensive.

  • Please do your best to give 24 hours notice of your cancelation. You may reschedule your intensive for another day during the same month based on availability.

LET'S GET STARTED

How our EMDR Intensive Process Works:

An intensive starts with 1-hour consultation, where we will discuss your general goals and whether or not an EMDR intensive is a good fit for you. During the appointment we will discuss the process/phases of EMDR, address any concerns or questions and begin to establish a therapeutic alliance.

We schedule a 2-hour-intake appointment for history taking. During this appointment, we will map out goals and create your individualized treatment plan, discuss and practice resourcing techniques, and prepare for reprocessing.

We schedule either:

  • Half-Day Intensive - (1) three-hour session from 9 AM to 12 PM with breaks as needed.

  • Full-Day Intensive - (1) six-hour session from 9 AM to 3 PM with breaks as needed in between memory targets for grounding, movement, and nourishments.  (Scheduled on Friday).

  • Two Full-Day Intensives - (2) six-hour sessions from 9AM to 3PM with breaks as needed in between memory targets for grounding, movement, and nourishments. (Scheduled on a Friday and Saturday).

After your EMDR intensive is complete, we will schedule a 1-hour follow up session to see how you are doing.
