I believe that the purpose of counseling is for individuals to develop a deeper understanding of their life experiences and to develop a pathway of action towards wellness - a pathway that is strength-based, solution-focused and person-centered, because everyone needs something a little different to heal.

I wholeheartedly believe that focusing on what is most important to you in session while also exploring past wounds can lead to authentic healing. In session, I emphasize building a strong and collaborative relationship that allows my clients to be their most authentic selves. I believe true healing occurs when we can embrace our inner truth.

I strive to create a safe space where my clients feel comfortable sharing their deepest darkest thoughts, experiences, and emotions. I meet them with empathy, compassion, understanding, and support. At the core of self-healing lies a journey of self-love, acceptance, and empowerment.

Together, we will discuss life events that contribute to your depression. We will look for ways to change, accept, or adapt to those situations. Together, we will set realistic goals for your future. Together, we will identify distorted thought processes or unhelpful behaviors that keep you stuck in feelings of hopelessness or helplessness. Together, we will build tools to manage your symptoms and create a plan towards wellness so you can notice sparks of joy in your life. Anxiety is a universal human experience. It is important to remember that everyone experiences anxiety differently and in varying degrees. Your experience is valid and deserving of treatment.

Everyone experiences some form of trauma in their lifetime. Oftentimes, we carry these traumas in our thoughts, patterns of behavior, patterns in relationships, and patterns in the way we think about ourselves long after the traumatic experience has ended.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced based psychotherapy that is effective in helping individuals with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, poor self-esteem, addictions and more. EMDR involves the use of eye movements (or tapping) to stimulate the brain’s natural healing processes. EMDR helps clients revisit traumatic experiences in a safe and less intimidating way. EMDR helps individuals get "unstuck" from memories, feelings, or beliefs that prevent authentic healing. Together, we will improve your sense of safety, sense of self, and improve your ability to regulate emotions and responses.
